Our story

It started with one stubborn roaster and a garage.

Brewlab began in 2014 when our founder, Mara, dragged a second-hand 1kg roaster into her garage and refused to drink another flat cup of coffee. What started as weekend obsession turned into a tiny roastery, then a slightly bigger one, then a proper lab full of probe thermometers, scribbled roast profiles and far too many tasting spoons.

We still do things the slow way. We taste every batch before it ships, pay growers above market rate for the lots we love, and pack everything in compostable bags. If a roast isn't good enough for our own morning cup, it doesn't go out the door.

— Mara & the Brewlab crew, roasting in small batches since day one.
